Never lay it flat

Flat cartons extend the shipment’s outside footprint and use far more trailer floor space. Carriers measure the handling unit at its greatest outside dimensions, including the pallet and any overhang.

Plan on freight around $675–$1,275 when the flat layout creates a larger shipment envelope, with any accessorial fees added separately.

If the carton is on its side or its long edge projects beyond the pallet, stop and repalletize it.

The photos show the compact setup: one carton upright on one pallet, locked down with banding and stretch wrap.

Prepare the pallet

Use one sound, level 48 × 40 in standard pallet that can support the carton. Packed and finished, the load stands about 65 in tall (48 × 40 × 65).

Stand the carton upright

Center the Giga carton vertically so it stays within the pallet footprint. Do not lay it on its side or let it overhang.

Band and wrap

Run shipping bands around the carton and through the pallet. Add several tight layers of black stretch wrap to prevent shifting.

How LTL freight is calculated

LTL pricing is influenced by freight class, lane, minimum charge and accessorial services. Under NMFC, class runs from 50 to 500 and considers density, stowability, handling and liability. For an ordinary boxed machine without unusual handling or liability concerns, density is often the main packaging-sensitive factor.

Density = weight (lb) ÷ cubic feetCubic feet = greatest outside L × W × H in inches ÷ 1,728. Include the pallet, packaging and every overhanging edge.

LTL 零担运费怎么算

Fact-check: “weight barely matters until 1,000–2,000 lb”

Directionally right, but the cutoff is not. Weight is always part of density and carriers also use weight breaks and minimum charges. For bulky, low-density freight, however, a modest weight change often matters much less than using more trailer floor or linear space. Simply rotating one rectangular carton does not change L × W × H or its density. The penalty comes when a flat layout creates overhang, a larger shipment envelope, extra pallet positions or non-stackable space—as in the photographed multi-carton setup. There is no universal 1,000 or 2,000 lb threshold.

Many carriers also have cubic-capacity rules. A common—but carrier-specific—trigger is roughly 750 ft³ at under 6 lb/ft³; the tariff may re-rate the shipment at a higher minimum density or class. The exact threshold varies by carrier.

Pack it the proper way, as shown on this page, and there is no restocking-fee charge billed back to you. When the unit arrives, it goes through our assessment before any repair or refund is processed.

Complete return: include every original part, cable and accessory that belongs to the unit. Missing items are deducted at value.
Protect glass & sensitive parts: pad all glass/acrylic panels and sensitive components. Transit damage caused by inadequate packaging leads to structural repair deductions.

Transparency notice: the condition of every returned unit on arrival is logged with detailed photographic and video evidence. If a restocking fee is assessed, that evidence — together with serial logs and return documentation — documents exactly why, and may be submitted to payment providers and fraud-protection departments in the event of a dispute.
